Adéy means mother.

It is the Eritrean word for mother, and it is the first word either of us associates with being fed, looked after, and told to sit down and drink something before we go.
We are two best friends of African origin. Coffee took us a long time — years of buying it, drinking it, over-extracting it, arguing about it in each other’s kitchens. Patience turned out to be the whole skill.
We source from Ethiopia, where coffee begins, and from Eritrea, where our families do — alongside producers in Brazil and Colombia whose work we’ve come to love. Three coffees is not a limitation; it’s how much we can stand behind.
Everything is roasted after you order it. Bags now. A café of our own next — somewhere with good chairs, where nobody is rushed.
